Grapes
Rkatsiteli is the most well-known white grape variety in Georgia. The grapes for VAZIS XIDI Rkatsiteli N°1 2024 come from Kakabeti in Kakheti, at around 800 meters above sea level. They were harvested unusually late in the season, giving the wine a particularly ripe and fruit-driven character.
Process
VAZIS XIDI Rkatsiteli N°1 2024 was traditionally vinified in qvevri with natural yeast, without skin contact.
Character
On the nose, it reveals notes of white flowers and ripe fruits such as yellow apple, quince, and nectarine, complemented by subtle hints of honey, herbs, and spices. On the palate, the wine is powerful, round, and harmonious, with good length and a mineral finish.
A versatile food companion, it pairs well with fish and poultry, as well as pasta with creamy sauces. It also stands on its own as an approachable, characterful, and highly drinkable white wine with a distinctly Georgian signature.
Ideal drinking temperature: 7 to 10°C
Allow to breathe for 10 minutes before serving.
