Grapes
The western Georgian Krakhuna grape variety is easily recognized by its intense, aromatic flavour and thin, crisp skin. Krakhuna requires special care, as its delicate skin cracks easily in heavy rain, which can lead to significant harvest losses. Our winegrower in the village of Zovreti is one of the few experts in the cultivation of this rare grape variety. In Zovreti, the Krakhuna finds ideal soil conditions. The sunny slope of the vineyard offers the best conditions for ripening the grapes.
Process
The Krakhuna Tsitska 2024 is a cuvée of 80% Krakhuna and 20% Tsitska, another western Georgian grape variety from the same vineyard. The strong, aromatic character of Krakhuna blends harmoniously with the freshness and lively acidity of Tsitska. Fermentation took place without mash in Qvevri and in stainless steel tanks. The result is an extremely aromatic, radiantly fresh white wine with aromas of apricots, tropical fruit, honey and herbs.
Character
The VAZIS XIDI Krakhuna Tsitska 2024 is an ideal accompaniment to seafood, light fish dishes, poultry, Mediterranean vegetables or mild cheese dishes. However, its lively acidity and intense, very special fruit aromas also make it an enjoyable experience on its own.
Ideal drinking temperature: 7 to 10°C
