Grapes
The western Georgian grape variety Tsitska is traditionally cuvetted together with the other Imeretian white wine varieties Krakhuna and Tsolikouri. Tsitska is characterized by its comparatively high sugar content and invigorating, refreshing acidity. Our winegrower in the village of Zovreti is the fourth generation to cultivate this variety. The Tsitska finds ideal conditions here: mineral soils and a sun-drenched hillside location that allows the grapes to fully ripen without losing their characteristic acidity.
Process
We made VAZIS XIDI Tsitska 2024 from particularly ripe grapes that were carefully harvested by hand in November and vinified as single varietals. Fermentation took place without mash contact in stainless steel tanks. The result is a white wine with an individual character: aromas of quince, melon, fresh hay and a hint of honey combine to create a harmonious and multi-layered taste.
Character
VAZIS XIDI Tsitska 2024 is a versatile food companion, for example with poultry, Mediterranean vegetables and spicy cheese dishes. But it also impresses when enjoyed on its own with its intense, characterful fruit aromas.
Ideal drinking temperature: 7 to 10°C
